Best Dual Monitor Arms 2026: Fit Table, 10 Picks & How to Choose

Two monitors on their own bases take up desk space. A dual monitor arm clamps or bolts to the desk once, frees that space and gives both screens adjustable positioning — and on gas-spring models, height changes without tools.

We compared 10 dual monitor arms across budget, mid-range and premium tiers — gas-spring, fixed-steel and monitor-plus-laptop designs — reading manufacturer and retailer product pages for per-monitor capacity, VESA fit, mount type and desk-thickness range: the figures that decide whether an arm fits your two monitors and your desk.

How We Chose These Dual Monitor Arms

DeskProven is research-led. We do not buy, mount or load-test the arms in this guide — we build every recommendation from manufacturer and retailer product pages, plus editorial coverage of common owner-reported issues, rather than press releases or star ratings. Where a spec wasn’t published by the manufacturer or retailer, we say so instead of guessing. This guide covers comfort, fit and stability characteristics only — we do not make posture or health claims.

Dual Monitor Arm Fit Table

Per-monitor capacity is the first figure to check: it’s published per arm, not combined, and owners report sag or drift when a screen is pushed past the rated range. “Not stated in our sources” means the figure did not appear in the manufacturer and retailer pages we reviewed. It may be published elsewhere, so confirm it on the listing. Price bands are shown only where we have a dated reading for the exact linked product; otherwise the cell says so.

Fit Facts: Desk Compatibility Before You Buy

Fit facts: clamp mounts need roughly 1–3 inches of flat back-edge depth to grip; most clamps are specified for desks roughly 0.4–3 inches thick, with model-specific exceptions such as the Amazon Basics arm at 0.39–4 inches per its Amazon listing, and rolled edges, drawers or under-desk cross beams can block a clamp entirely — HUANUO’s Amazon listing for its FlowLift stand recommends wooden desks with no cross beams. Grommet mounts bolt through a hole in the desk and offer a more secure attachment for heavier monitors, and suit desks where a clamp jaw can’t grip. Per-monitor capacity is published per arm, not combined — check your monitor’s weight without its stand (not the boxed weight) against the arm’s rated range before buying, particularly on gas-spring arms that require tension tuning to hold position.

Budget Dual Monitor Arms

1. Amazon Basics Gas Spring Dual Monitor Arm

Best for: Dual 24–27″ monitors within the lighter end of that weight range on a standard flat-edge desk.

2. VIVO Dual Monitor Desk Mount (STAND-V002)

What it is: A fixed-steel dual arm on a central pole, 13–30″ screens, up to 22 lbs per monitor, with independently adjustable VESA plates (±0.5 in) for aligning screens of different heights.

Best for: Heavier monitors within its 13–30″ size range, where a lower-capacity gas-spring arm would be marginal.

3. HUANUO FlowLift Dual Monitor Stand

What it is: A gas-spring dual arm for 13–32″ screens, 4.4–19.8 lbs per arm (Amazon listing), with HUANUO’s Amazon listing specifying wooden desks 0.59–3.54 in thick and no under-desk cross beams.

Best for: Dual 27–32″ setups within its 4.4–19.8 lb per-arm range where you want gas-spring height adjustment.

What it is: A fixed, non-gas-spring dual arm rated up to 22 lbs per arm, with standard 75×75/100×100 mm VESA fit and a desk clamp or grommet base. The current Amazon listing gives both 27″ (its details table) and 32″ (its title) as the maximum screen size, so confirm your screen size on the listing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if a dual monitor arm will hold both of my monitors?

Check each monitor’s weight without its stand (not the boxed weight) against the arm’s per-monitor capacity, which is rated per arm rather than combined across both. A monitor near the top of the range may need careful tension adjustment, and one beyond it can sag or drift, particularly on gas-spring arms.

Should I choose a clamp mount or a grommet mount?

A clamp grips the desk’s back edge, needs roughly 1–3 inches of flat depth and requires no drilling. A grommet mount bolts through a hole in the desk and offers a more secure attachment for heavier monitors, and it can be the better option on desks with rolled edges, drawers or cross beams that block a clamp from gripping.

Why do gas-spring dual arms need tension adjustment?

A gas-spring arm balances monitor weight against pressurized cylinders rather than friction joints, so the tension has to be set for the specific weight you’re mounting. If you switch to a heavier or lighter monitor, you may need to re-tune the tension to stop the arm from sagging or rising on its own.

Can two monitors sit close together without the arms interfering?

It depends on the arm’s geometry. Independent-arm designs allow flexible spacing and can stagger monitors, but bringing them very close together can cause the joints or VESA plates to collide at certain angles. Crossbar designs, which mount both monitors on a single bar, can reduce the risk of collisions but leave less room to change the gap once installed.

Do dual monitor arms work with non-standard or ultrawide monitors?

By our count, eight of the ten arms in this comparison list 75×75 mm and 100×100 mm VESA patterns in our sources (for Loctek and North Bayou, on the Amazon listing), which suit mainstream office displays; for the other two, the pattern wasn’t stated in our sources. A monitor without a VESA mounting point on the back, or an ultrawide panel heavier than the arm’s rated capacity, may not be compatible without an adapter or a higher-capacity arm — check your monitor’s VESA spec and weight without its stand before buying.
